Windfall

For his last fight against Marco Antonio Barrera last Sunday, Manny Pacquiao earned a cool 7 million dollars or 308 million pesos. Broken down, he was paid 3 million dollars for his fight purse, 2 million dollars for pay-per-view receipts in the US and another 2 million dollars for local pay-per-view receipts. Minus taxes and the usual share of his handlers, his net income for the 12-rounder will be close to 100 million pesos. That doesn't include the endorsements he's sure to reap in the coming days. That's enough money for a high school dropout & a one time baker to last him several lifetimes.

At the post-fight conference, Pacquiao intimated that he might jump to the 135 lbs division and might increase his fights in a year into 4 fights a year. That means more money will come his way as a lot of marquee names (the Diazes, Katsidis, etc.) are waiting for him there. Bob Arum, his promoter openly says that he might be eligible for 5 million dollar fights at that division. Talk about the poor getting rich and getting richer still.

Fantasy Baseball Sweep

After 162 games and 163 games for some, Yahoo Fantasy Baseball season has come to an end. And fortunately for me, after three years of playing Fantasy Baseball, I swept all four leagues (Yahoo Public 89510 , Yahoo Public 254004 , Yahoo Public 254005 , Yahoo Public 254006 ) I joined. Hooray for me!

Not bad for a non-American who never played a single inning of baseball huh? Yep. that's true. My secret? Statistical Analysis. Moneyball . But that's no secret. The real secret is, experience. After a while, you learn. And then you win.

Test

This is a test post. I hope this post will be the start of a lot of good posts.
